Checking for dangerous and hazardous goods (D&H)

If licensed at your site, N4 checks for violations of dangerous and hazardous (D&H) cargo handling rules. N4 performs D&H checking based on the hazard class codes and rules that are defined in the IMDG Code, a document that is published by the International Maritime Organization (IMO), and, if available, on the IMDG UN number restrictions.

The UN number is associated with a substance type. If a substance that is present in any of the containers is "not supported," the XPS client displays a warning for similar substances indicating that it is not checking for these substances and that they should be checked in some other alternate system or manually.

If response time is crucial, you can turn off D&H checking. Turning off D&H checking disables top vessels views.
